I know that my first post was only yesterday, but I was SO excited that my blog is finally up and running that I thought I would just go for it with a second post.
In this one I'll be showing you some of my own pieces; one of which you might have noticed in the ABOUT ME bar on the home page.
The other day my mother was out at a market and noticed a little stall selling, as well as their vegetables, some beautiful sunflowers! She bought me a bouquet and brought them home for me to do some drawing!!! This is some of what I came up with.

The text here says:
An attempt at watercolours --> the same sunflowers from before --> I really need more watercolour practice.
I tend to use watercolours as if they were acrylics... I'll watch some tutorials and get some better technique.
This is true; I haven't really had any watercolour training -- I usually work in acrylics when it comes to paint. Therefore, when this disaster happened, I sort of gave up (not forever, just until I learn some better technique, as I said). Sooo please ignore this when you judge me based on my work, something I'm sure we all do. This was done with my Fragonard Aquarelle Extra Fine artist's water colours.

There's text on this page too:
More sunflowers! it was an entire bouquet, but seeing as it took so long to draw just this one I thought I would leave it at that.
Yeahhh, this sunflower took me the good part of an entire day....
But, if I do say so myself, I am pretty happy with it, though the vase, not so much. I used my Derwent Graphic 12 soft graphite pencils for this.

A dead and more withered flower.
I'm not so sure how "dead and withered" this one really looks, but I wouldn't be able to change much if I went back to fix it now. This is a coloured pencil work, if you can't tell. I used my beautiful Prismacolor brand coloured pencils (the kneaded eraser I'm such a fan of came with these 72 gorgeous colours) I do really enjoy using them, they're super soft and the colour is magnificent.

And here's the piece you may recognize; it's another coloured pencil piece, in fact the same flower as the withering one, just a few days earlier.
Let me know what your favorite art supplies brands are; I'm curious to know what other great kinds of supplies are out there to try.
